At this year’s AGM, the club was delighted to welcome Mrs Migs Howard as the new Commodore.
After accepting her Commodores Burgee, Migs reflected on her long-standing affection for the club, recalling that since childhood it has been defined by a warm atmosphere, goodwill, friendship, and enjoyment—qualities she believes are central to its continued success.
She highlighted the remarkable breadth of activities on offer, from training, racing, and cruising to kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming, and simply “messing about in boats.” It is this diversity, she noted, that makes the club such a special and valuable place for all who are part of it.
Describing the club as “a nugget of gold,” Migs expressed her commitment to protecting and preserving its unique spirit for future generations, as she takes on the role of Commodore.
Mr Guy Marshall is new Vice Commodore.
