We are excited to announce the first Orford Junior and Youth Open Championship – a weekend of competitive sailing open to both members and non-members!
Entry Fee: £20 per person
Date: Saturday 2nd – Sunday 3rd August
This flagship event is open to junior (under 17) and youth (under 23) sailors and will feature both single-handed and double-handed fleets.
We’re committed to delivering a safe, well-organised, and rewarding championship. The entry fee helps cover essential event costs, including:
Fuel for safety boats and committee vessels
Race management equipment and logistics
A selection of quality prizes
Professional event photography
Daily packed lunches for participants
Every penny goes toward creating an enjoyable, professional, and memorable experience for our young sailors.
Morning Races (Single-Handed)
Classes: Topper, Tera, Laser
Target: 2 races per fleet per day
Afternoon Races (Double-Handed)
Class: RS Feva
Target: 2–3 races per day
Junior (Under 17): Topper, Tera, RS Feva
Youth (Under 23): Laser, RS Feva
Note: Junior Laser sailors with sufficient experience may compete, but will be scored as part of the Youth fleet.
Friday 1st August: 15:00–18:30
Saturday 2nd August: 08:30–09:30
All participants must register during these times to collect their welcome pack and meal vouchers. Failure to register will result in disqualification from racing.
