A year ago this Sunday we bade farewell to Michael Pearce, a former Commodore and longstanding supporter of the sailing club, for the final time. Dad/Mike was a huge supporter of all things Orford, both on and off the river. We would like to invite you to celebrate his life this Sunday 1st August participating either in a round the island cruise and/or just a drink on the quay outside Mike’s Black shed.
The aim of the day is to simply come together to have fun and raise a glass to Mike Pearce. He was happiest amongst the Orford community and we hope that anyone who knew Mike in his many capacities in the village will join us to celebrate him.
For River Participants;

For the River participants, we would encourage all vessels from paddle boarders to mirrors to motorboats to come and join us round the island. There is even a special treat as you pass Dove Point to encourage you round the mark!
The main purpose of the day is to have an enjoyable cruise but Prizes will be available for:
As you finish we would love a hoot or a salute for Mike, as you pass the finish line.
Then as you return to the club, please do make your way to the quay where we will be holding a drinks reception and a little bit of entertainment to round off the morning. Prize giving will be at 12.45pm.
