The 1st and 2nd August 2026 saw Orford Sailing Club host its 2nd Junior & Youth Open Championship! Two spectacular days of fleet racing for single handed boats in the mornings and double handers in the afternoons. The committee boat starts and racing courses laid down at Raydon enabled spectaors to take up a shoreside seat from the seawall. Consistency was key to success in both the Topper and ILCA fleets who raced in the mornings and synchronisation and communication paved the way to the podium in the RS Feva fleet in the afternoons.
We were lucky enough to have Karl from Felixstowe come down on the saturday afternoon with his drone to take some amazing video footage of the racing which we will try to upload soon!

It was a fantastic weekend of sailing, with exciting racing, excellent sportsmanship and a brilliant atmosphere throughout the event. It was wonderful to see so many junior and youth sailors taking to the water and enjoying the competition.
A huge thank you goes to everyone who helped make the weekend such a success. From our race management team and safety crews to volunteers on shore and everyone working behind the scenes, your hard work and dedication are greatly appreciated.
