On Saturday the 8th August eight boats from OSC travelled to Aldeburgh to test their metal in a Laser Open event. With 19 boats out on the water, including ex-olympic sailors amongst the fleet their was certainly some stiff competition. OSC put out some great performances with the adults sailing hard up the beats on their standard rigs, but it was the up and coming youth sailors who just moved into Lasers this year who were the real handicap bandits in their 4.7s. Black Stakes reach made for the perfect backdrop to 3 exciting races and without any discards the results came down to the wire but OSC were ultimately victorious taking over the podium at the end of the day!
