On Friday 7th August we held our annual Junior Regatta, and what a fantastic day it was! The event kicked off with the All-Comers Cup with 18boats and 27 sailors taking part. A series of single-handed races followed in Lasers and Toppers, that showcased excellent skills, determination, and sportsmanship from sailors of all ages and abilities.
After a lunch break with bacon rolls and goodies from the Galley, the ever-popular Parents Race, with 14 boats entered, brought plenty of smiles and friendly competition as parents took to the water as crew. The day finished with an RS Feva race that was hotly contested between the 10 strong fleet who put on a great spectacle for the crowds reaching across the finish line with their spinnakers flying. The instructors race was postponed to Wednesday 12th August 5pm, do come and watch.
Thank you to all the juniors, parents, volunteers, and race officials who made the day run smoothly. Congratulations to all participants — whether you raced for the win or for fun, your enthusiasm made the regatta special.
