AOET (The Alde & Ore Estuary Trust) announced in their newsletter on 23rd September that our very own OSC member, Mike Pringle, was the top fundraiser in this year’s Aldeburgh to Orford Flotilla 2024. It was very heartwarming to see so many participants from Orford in this event (paddleboarders, kayakers & swimmers).
The aim of the flotilla event was to raise awareness and funds for flood defences to the Lower Estuary (LE). Work is currently underway to raise, widen and strengthen the river walls of the Upper Estuary (UE).
