Racing – Latest Race Results

Well, we have managed to pull-off one of the busiest racing seasons so far with still several more events yet to come!

• The year kicked off with the Spring Series comprised 5 races and was won by Will Cleverly in his Phantom.
• Both the Grove Cup & Gilles Trollope Cup were won by David Pegg in his Laser Radial.
• The Allcomers Cup was won by Ella Bonnett in her Laser 4.7.
• The Dawn Trophy was won by Simon Kerr in his Laser.
• The OSC Junior and Youth Open Championships saw over 40 boats out on the water racing each day.
• The Junior Club Regatta had a huge turnout and jam packed schedule and once the wind filled in it was a glorious day with champagne sailing conditions for all the races.
• The Senior Regatta once again ran a whole host of races across a two day event with some wild and windy conditions on the first day!
• The Team Racing Event made a come back utilising the club’s fleet of RS Fevas and was an exciting and tactical battle between 4 fierce teams.
• The Friday Junior Racing mini series saw new young sailors take their first steps into racing this summer, alongside the club’s highly expericed youth sailors.
• The Feibusch Novice shield was hottly contested by the students on the RYA Stage 1&2 course once again this year.

And, with the Sea Race and Round the Island Fun event yet to come, there are still more trophies to be won!
