Welcome to Orford Sailing Club

Orford Sailing Club is a friendly club for sailors of all abilities, based on the Suffolk Coast. The club welcomes beginners and is a recognised RYA Training Centre.

We have a regular racing programme of handicap and class racing including Wayfarers, Mirrors, Fevas, Handicap series and Novices, as well as occasional races for cruisers and local classes.

Maratu will be a familiar sight to anyone who sails on the River Ore. Her owner is now upgrading and she is for sale. Full details and photographs here

Orford and Deben Entrances

The 2008 sketchmaps for Orford Haven and the Deben Entrance (and the Walton Backwaters approaches) are available from www.eastcoastrivers.com

This year, the authors have improved the coastline data for Shingle Street and Oxley Marsh beaches, and also for North Weir Point which shows a substantial recession to the north by some 350m. Full details from their website.

Forthcoming Attractions

The 2008 calendar is now on-line. Amongst this year's attractions, the Taster Sessions start in June – and we look forward to welcoming more aspiring young sailors to try sailing with the club. There is a full training programme, with a range of RYA courses.
