What we do
Dinghies at Orford
Orford Sailing Club is a recognised RYA Training Centre and runs a variety of courses, including regular dinghy and powerboat courses. In addition, the club maintains strong links with the local community through its taster sessions for local families.
The racing calendar is full throughout the season from May to
November, with active class racing for Wayfarers, Mirrors,
Fevas, Handicap series and Novices, as well as occasional races for
Dayboats,
Cruisers and the local 10 foot class. Orford is also host for one day
of the famous Aldeburgh Regatta week.
The more adventurous Wayfarer sailors can take part in weekend cruises in company with larger keelboats around the interesting waters of the East Coast.
The facilities at the club include changing rooms with showers, an attractive clubhouse with kitchen and a large dinghy park for all types of dinghies and tenders. There is a busy social programme for members throughout the year with the high point of the summer barbecue and party.
